Memorial Blood Centers (MBC) joined Abbott at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities over the weekend to promote blood donation and the We Give Blood campaign ahead of the Gophers vs. Wolverines football game.
Through December 4, Minnesota will be competing to garner the most blood donations and win $1 million for student or community health. As a thank you for tackling the national blood shortage, donors will receive a limited-edition Minnesota t-shirt. Click here for more information.
With Big Noon Kickoff on FOX also on site, MBC staff blood typed dozens of fans, answered questions about blood donation and encouraged the crowd to give back by donating blood.
The event also connected MBC with a new member of the Minnesota community. One fan who recently moved to Minnesota from Michigan stopped by the table and shared that he had been a regular blood donor in Michigan. He was looking for a new place to continue donating in his new community.
The Gophers ultimately brought home the Little Brown Jug, making for a successful day both on and off the field.
