Who We Are

Founded in 1948, Memorial Blood Centers is a nonprofit community-based blood center that provides lifesaving blood and blood products to hospitals and other organizations. Memorial Blood Centers operates in Minnesota and Wisconsin and relies on the local community to donate blood to help ensure a safe and stable blood supply is available to area hospitals and other partners.

Our Lifesaving Network

In 2016, Memorial Blood Centers merged with New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe). As a division of NYBCe, we are part of a network that is internationally recognized for its high humanitarian impact, including lifesaving blood products, specialty pharmaceuticals, and high-quality clinical, technical, testing, and consultative services for healthcare providers and patients. Our Mission

Today, as part of New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe), we proudly serve as a vital community lifeline dedicated to helping patients and advancing global public health through our four-part mission.

1. Provide the highest quality blood and stem cell products and related medical and consultative services to hospitals and patients.
2. Conduct the highest quality, novel, and innovative research in the fields of hematology, blood banking and transfusion medicine, and cellular therapies, thus advancing these fields and positively impacting public health.
3. Develop products, technologies, and services in the fields of hematology, blood banking, transfusion medicine, and cellular therapies with the potential to have worldwide humanitarian impact.
4. Train the next generation of leaders in each of these fields.
