In 2024, Michele Keil, Senior Account Manager at Memorial Blood Centers (MBC), was diagnosed with a rare form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Before her diagnosis, Michele was an eight-gallon blood donor and a passionate advocate for the lifesaving mission she supports every day through her work.
“One of the hardest parts of cancer for me was knowing I couldn’t actively participate in the lifesaving work I care so deeply about,” Michele shared.
Last week, at the Hermantown High School winter blood drive, Michele reached a powerful milestone: her first blood donation since her cancer diagnosis. Joined by friends and fellow donors Amber and Margot, the moment was filled with excitement, gratitude, and hope.
“I’m incredibly grateful and blessed to be part of this work and this community,” Michele said.
Michele’s journey is a powerful reminder of the impact of blood donation and the strength of the MBC community. We are inspired by her resilience and proud to work alongside teammates who so clearly embody compassion, perseverance, and heart.
