For the past 16 years, Dawn has been a dedicated blood drive chairperson and donor at Western National Insurance, helping Memorial Blood Centers collect lifesaving blood for patients in need.

During that time, Dawn has helped lead 51 blood drives, resulting in 1,381 blood donations—enough to potentially help save the lives of up to 4,149 people. She also leads by example, having donated with Memorial Blood Centers 53 times, giving a total of six gallons of blood.

Dawn at MBC Blood Drive

Dawn’s commitment was especially evident during a recent blood drive when mechanical issues with an MBC vehicle required the drive to be moved indoors at the last minute. With an available conference room, a flexible blood drive team and a site check completed by MBC manager Morgan the day before, the team developed a new plan to keep the drive on track.

Dawn immediately got to work encouraging her coworkers to continue supporting the drive. Her efforts helped the drive exceed its goal, and she rolled up her own sleeve to donate as well.

Blood drive chairpersons like Dawn play an important role in making community blood drives possible. MBC thanks Dawn for 16 years of dedication to blood donation and for being a champion for patients.
