A record crowd of 500 business leaders, donors, community advocates, volunteers, blood drive sponsors, and blood recipients came out Thursday evening, April 26, 2012, to celebrate the cause of blood donation at Memorial Blood Centers’ 8th annual What’s Your Type? fundraiser presented by UnitedHealth Group at the TCF Bank Stadium at the University of Minnesota.
Throughout the night, over $100,000 was raised to help acquire a new bloodmobile for Memorial Blood Centers. The environment buzzed with energy as guests enjoyed savory hors d’oeuvres from 17 Twin Cities Originals Restaurants. Guests were entertained by world-class jazz from Patty Peterson & Friends and delighted by NPR commentator Kevin Kling’s stories of gratitude. Susie Jones from WCCO-AM and Dr. Philip Kibort of Children’s Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota also shared their stories on the importance of live-saving blood donations and the lasting impact it has on the lives of those in need.

A record crowd of 450 business leaders, donors, community advocates, volunteers, blood drive sponsors, and blood recipients came out Thursday evening, April 21, 2011, to celebrate Memorial Blood Centers’ 7th annual What’s Your Type? benefit. Throughout the night, over $92,800 was raised to support Memorial Blood Centers’ cancer care programs. The environment buzzed with energy as guests enjoyed savory hors d’oeuvres from 15 Twin Cities Originals Restaurants, beer tasting provided by Great Waters Brewery, wine sampling provided by Kenwood Vineyards, and ice cream provided by the University of Minnesota Dairy. Guests were entertained with music by Minnesota’s own Mish Mash, an exciting live auction, and over 150 silent auction items. Memorial Blood Centers also paid tribute to the Linberg’s, whose courageous daughter Annika, received cancer treatment at Children’s Hospital which included transfusions of platelets provided by Memorial Blood Centers.

The Duluth What's Your Type? event, held in the historic Greysolon Ballroom, raised a record $32,000 to benefit Memorial Blood Centers' Cancer Care Programs. A variety of guests from Duluth and Twin Cities communities came together to hear a family's touching testimonial to the importance of donated blood in the treatment of cancer, bid on a variety of silent and live auction items, and enjoyed savory samplings from Duluth's finest restaurants.
