“Seeing Cole and James is a testament to the fact that miracles take place every day. Doctors, nurses, healthcare specialists and certainly blood donors all played a part in them being here.” —Heather

James and ColeAfter being born nearly three months premature, twins Cole and James faced incredible odds. Weighing only 1.6 pounds and 2.25 pounds, their bodies weren’t fully developed, causing them to undergo heart and eye surgeries. Each surgery, in addition to the frequent blood draws, resulted in the need for numerous blood transfusions.

Cole and James spent four months in the NICU, but their progress can be explained best by mom, Heather: “Seeing Cole and James is a testament to the fact that miracles take place every day. Doctors, nurses, healthcare specialists and certainly blood donors all played a part in them being here.”

Today, Cole and James continue to thrive. Although they had a difficult arrival, they can look forward to long healthy lives thanks to lifesaving blood donors.
