Blood Drive Sponsor Felt Driven to Charity

September 21, 2017

Charity Auto Show Financial Gift(Saint Paul, MN)—The first annual Smoke Signals Charity Auto Show, held at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, featured vehicles of all sorts of makes and models—from a 1931 Hudson to a 2018 Audi. Nearly 200 vehicles were on display this crisp Saturday morning.

One vehicle stood apart from the others: a 2017 Thomas Built Bus MSV 4000 painted bright magenta. It had been decked out with equipment unlike any other vehicle at the show: blood donation equipment.

Nearly 20 classic car enthusiasts stepped up to donate blood on-site at the show. In addition to the generous blood given, proceeds from the show also raised $2,500 for local Memorial Blood Centers (MBC).

“We want these funds to help MBC bring blood drives to local communities,” said Rosemary Frank, event chair for the Smoke Signals Charity Auction Show. “This is a cause we can all support. With recent hurricanes devastating Texas and Florida, the timing couldn’t have been better to work with and support MBC.”

“We are honored to be the charity of choice for the Smoke Signals Charity Auto Show,” said Larry Silber, MBC Corporate and Community Relations Officer. “Their support helps us connect with communities that are committed to giving back, and we look forward to partnering with them in the future.”
